Shane Jones Attends NACA Conference

Four Davis & Elkins College students and their advisor recently learned about new performers available for campus entertainment during the national conference of the National Association for Campus Activities.

Attending the conference in Nashville, TN, was local student and member of the D&E Campus Activities Board executive board Shane Jones. A junior, Jones is the son of Christina Channell of Beverly, WV and David Jones of Montrose, WV.

During the NACA conference, students experienced the talent of up-and-coming musicians, comedians, magicians and speakers. They also had a chance to attend the Market Place and meet with promotion and vender companies they work with on a yearly basis.

The students also attended educational sessions on pursuing careers in higher education and student affairs.

The student-run Davis & Elkins College Campus Activities Board brings national music, comedy and other events to campus weekly during the academic year.

The National Association for Campus Activities offers a wide variety of events, educational institutes, publications and networking opportunities for colleges and universities. The organization has more than 950 college and university members and 500-plus associate members who represent artists, lecturers and performers.
