Sarah Booth Attends WV Reading Conference

Sarah Booth, an Elementary Education major at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV, attended the West Virginia Reading Association's 56th Annual Conference at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV, November 17-18. Booth and other students attended with Course Professor Sue Talbott, a past president of the Association. Booth is the daughter of Paul and Sherry Booth of Philippi, WV.

The Conference theme was "Climb to New Heights - READ!" and featured group sessions, keynote speakers, authors' luncheons and an awards ceremony. The group sessions were led by individuals committed to education who presented information about topics such as Literacy Leadership, Analyzing Reading and Writing Data, Digital Storytelling and Bibliotherapy.

The Davis & Elkins College Teacher Education Program prepares competent, caring and qualified teachers with certification in 18 teaching areas, including Elementary Education, Physical Education and other specializations for secondary school teaching. All D&E teaching specialization programs are accredited by the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC).
