Davis & Elkins' Cooper Learns Skills on Theatre Tour

Davis & Elkins College student Dayna Cooper of Parkersburg traveled to Charlottesville, Va., on April 30 to tour several theatre venues and examine theatre rigging systems. The trip served as an important role in the Advanced Stagecraft course.

Theatrical rigging systems include lines, blocks, counterweights and other devices that enable a stage crew to hoist curtains, lights, scenery, stage effects and people.

Cooper, a junior, is the daughter of Kenneth and Brenda Cooper of Parkersburg, W.Va.
