Davis & Elkins College Student Sara Hill Learns from Orlando Businesses

2012 Jun 13

Sara Hill and students in the Davis & Elkins College Hospitality Club traveled to Orlando, FL, this spring to meet with professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry. Club members visited several world-class destinations, including the Rosen Centre Hotel, Orange County Convention Center, Peabody Hotel and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Hill, a hospitality and tourism management major, is the daughter of Connie Baker of Charleston, WV. Traveling with the students were Hospitality Club Advisor and Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management Melanie Campbell, Director of the Career Management Center Lisa Reed, and Adjunct Professor in Hospitality and Tourism and Director of the Outdoor Adventure Program Tom Tesar. The trip was made possible through several Hospitality Club fundraisers: a country basket raffle, spaghetti dinner, craft sale and cake walk and a historic Graceland Inn stay and dine raffle, a food stand at the Elkins Ramp Festival, and also donations from many area residents and businesses.
