Christopher Young Attends Carlson Leadership Academy

Christopher Young, a senior at Davis & Elkins College, recently attended the Carlson Leadership Academy in Stamford, CT. Young is the son of John and Kirstine Young of Glasgow, Scotland.

The three-day academy provides interactive training for students who serve as officers on their campus Sigma Phi Epsilon board and helps them gain a better understanding specific officer positions, strategic planning and goal setting, and leadership.

The academy also educates participants on how to use their individual strengths and enhance their skill sets and leadership abilities to help them as officers and students and eventually in the work force. More than 150 seasoned volunteers from across the country share their experiences as facilitators during the program.

"Chapter officers return to campus with a better understanding of their position, as well as a holistic strategy for moving their chapter forward," said Scott Goddard, vice president for student affairs at D&E.
